Salmon Listserv - How to subscribe or unsubscribe...

The Salmon Liserv is an e-mail discussion group devoted to salmon issues. The list is designed for use by classrooms studying salmon issues. Salmon experts have joined the list to answer student questions and give them a chance to discuss things first-hand with people who know what they are talking about. The list is a great resource for any classroom. We are very thankful for the time and effort volunteered by our guest experts on the list.

About the Salmon Listserv:

I taught science to 5th grade students from 1993-1998. My students participated in a yearly salmon unit where they took on the roles of farmers, loggers, commercial fishermen, sports fisherman, hatchery managers and Native Americans to study the issue of declining salmon runs in the Pacific Northwest.

We were lucky enough to get some help and good advice via email from members of the Salmon List. This is an email discussion list with people interested in salmon issues from all walks of life

That was a long time ago. I don't teach 5th. grade anymore but there are still people on the list who are willing to help your class. You should consider the list as a great way to have your students conduct authentic research.
